Who publishes this, and what the record can prove.

What this site publishes

Every award record on this site began life as a published notice on Contracts Finder. The site does not create procurement data, does not receive it privately from buyers or suppliers, and does not accept payment for inclusion, ranking or removal.

Around each notice it attaches three kinds of context, kept clearly separate from the notice itself: the Companies House record behind a published company identifier, any Charity Commission registration sharing that company number, and ONS area statistics for the delivery region the notice states. Where those layers disagree with each other, the conflict is shown on the page rather than resolved silently.

The held record currently contains 72,397 award notices from 3,626 named public buyers, carrying 80,793 published supplier entries, of which 10,836 distinct Companies House identifiers were published in the notices themselves. The most recent notice held was published 15 Aug 2026.

Where the data comes from

These are the source datasets behind the site, with the licence each is published under and the date each was last imported. The same figures are generated live from the database that serves the site, so they cannot drift away from what is actually being served.

The table covers the three bulk datasets imported into the database. ONS Census 2021 area statistics are held as a separate projection and are described below.

Contracts Finder award notices

Award notices are read from the Contracts Finder daily CSV harvester published by the Crown Commercial Service. Contracts Finder states that most of its content is subject to Crown copyright and is published under the Open Government Licence, with a published list of exemptions. This site republishes the notice fields — title, buyer, publication date, category, delivery region, disclosed value, contract dates, CPV classification and supplier names — and links every record back to the original notice.

Contracts Finder is not the whole of UK public procurement. Contracts published only on other portals, and spending that never becomes a published award notice, are outside this record entirely.

Companies House

Company status, registered name, incorporation date, address and SIC codes come from the Companies House Free Company Data Product, a monthly snapshot of live companies on the register. Companies House publishes it free of charge and refreshes it within five working days of the previous month end. Only the companies that a published notice or a charity record actually references are retained here, not the full register.

Register data is Crown copyright. Because a snapshot is monthly, a company whose status changed after the snapshot date will show its status as at that snapshot. Every supplier profile links straight through to the live Companies House record so the current position can be checked in one click.

Charity Commission

Charity registration, status and latest reported income and expenditure come from the Charity Commission for England and Wales public register extract, published daily under the Open Government Licence v3.0. A charity is attached to a supplier only where the Commission's own record carries the same company number.

Office for National Statistics

Regional population and economic-activity figures come from ONS Census 2021 area statistics, Crown copyright, published under the Open Government Licence v3.0. They describe the resident population of an area. They are not a measure of a contract's effect, of where a supplier is based, or of where work was actually carried out.

How current the record is

Award notices refresh automatically once a day, at 03:20 UTC. Each run re-reads the Contracts Finder daily files for the previous three days rather than just the previous one, so a notice that the source published late is still picked up. Every page shows the latest notice date held, and the source table above shows each dataset's import date, so staleness is visible rather than hidden.

The Companies House and Charity Commission layers are periodic bulk snapshots, refreshed less often than the notice feed. Their import dates are shown above and on the homepage source panel.

What this site does not claim

• A disclosed notice value is a field on a notice. It is not audited expenditure, invoiced spend, or proof that money changed hands. Framework and multi-supplier notices routinely state a ceiling covering several suppliers or several years.
• A supplier appearing often is evidence of published award activity, not of performance, value for money, delivery quality or wrongdoing.
• A company identifier resolves to a register record. It is not a judgment about the company, its ownership or its finances.
• Nothing here is for sale. There is no paid inclusion, no paid ranking and no paid removal, and the site carries no advertising.

Corrections

Public records contain errors, and a faithful republication reproduces them. If something here is wrong, we want to fix it, and we would rather hear about it than not.

• the exact page URL on this site;
• the specific field or figure you believe is wrong;
• what the correct position is, and the source that shows it — the original notice, a Companies House filing, or a Charity Commission record.

Every correction is checked against the source record. If the source itself is wrong, this site cannot silently overwrite it: what we can do is show the conflict on the page, exclude the record from derived pages, or point at the corrected source once the publisher has issued one. Corrections are never prioritised or de-prioritised on the basis of who is asking, and no payment affects whether a record is changed.

Journalists checking a figure before publication are welcome to use the same route; say so in the subject line and we will prioritise it.

The site is not affiliated with the Crown Commercial Service, Companies House, the Charity Commission, the Office for National Statistics or any buyer or supplier appearing in the record, and it republishes their material under the licences set out above.
